World Finds
WorldFinds is a woman-owned fair trade brand that creates lasting change in artisan communities around the world through long-term partnerships, sustainable work, and fair wages. Since 2001, the company’s fair trade products have created work for more than 1,000 artisans across the globe.
WorldFinds sells handcrafted jewelry, bags, scarves, and home textiles designed in the Chicago area and made by artisan partners, largely from repurposed and reclaimed materials like discarded sari and Kantha textiles. Each purchase provides fair wage employment while keeping waste out of landfills.
Your Impact
WorldFinds' fair trade practices are focused on addressing one of the root causes of poverty: a lack of work. Through ongoing partnerships, artisan communities have been able to open new medical clinics, schools, and community centers, and many artisans have gone on to buy homes, send their children to university, and start businesses of their own. Tuition, books, and uniforms are provided to the children of artisan partners through the WorldFinds Girls Education Fund, and a stitching and tailoring training center in India was established with funds raised during a Fair Trade Month initiative. Sustainability is built into every step of production. Bead bases are made from discarded wood scraps from local furniture factories, products are made by hand in small workshops or artisans' homes, goods are shipped by sea freight or on already scheduled flights, and packaging is compostable and made from recycled materials. WorldFinds is a member of the Fair Trade Federation and a Green America Gold Certified Business.
